Skipped frames due to rendering lag PLEASE HELP!!! I am live streaming not recording. I am having an issue where games will run fine for about (depending on the game) 10 min to 2 hours but mostly around the 10 to 15 min then just major stuttering, so bad that it crashes my gpu unless I stop game play.Turns out that having it saved on the directory drive was causing the majority of the issues (assuming that the C drive SSD was being overworked). THE FIX: I changed the path to my secondary SSD drive (on the D drive). This fixed my issue and in fact, I am able to record at an even better quality than before! Oddly enough, it doesn't skip frames while streaming. I've tried various solutions, such as running OBS as an administrator, changing OBS's priority, setting the process priority to high within OBS, and even giving it GPU priority in the NVIDIA Control Panel. Unfortunately, none of these attempts have resolved the issue.

I can't find the reason why, it's so horrifically bad that if I open 3 1080p youtube tabs all of them start dropping frames and my video codec 0 at task manager will be pinned at 100%. obs recording HEVC 1080p60fps, 6mbps will have 98% skipped frames due to encoding lag. Every time I record any gameplay I run into skipped frames due to encoding lag. It will vary but it is usually between 6% and 10% frames skipped. I didn't think I could have encoding lag with my PC setup but I kept seeing choppy playback in all my recordings. I found a STATS box under the VIEW tab in OBS and it is a life saver.

To make a clean log file, please follow these steps: Restart OBS. Start your stream/recording for at least 30 seconds (or however long it takes for the issue to happen). Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc. Stop your stream/recording.
